Upper Body Exercising With Resistance Tubes

Resistance tubes are a simple yet incredible effective way to invigorate your body and add variety to your workout. Also known as resistance tubing, exercise tubes, exercise bands, resistance bands, and other similar names, these simple items can make a huge difference in how your body looks and how you feel about your body.

Resistance tubes serve two primary purposes as exercise is concerned: they help tone muscle, and they help burn fat, and they do both at the same time. You don’t really have to choose one type of exercise over the other if you are using resistance tubes; they provide a well rounded workout by their very nature.

One of the other great advantages of exercising with resistance tubes is that they can work almost every major muscle group. People use them for upper body strength, lower body strength, and even core muscle conditioning. The positive impacts are widespread: including a more toned body, stronger muscles for other activities, and even improved posture and overall general body movement.

One of the most popular ways of using tubing to exercise is to work on upper body strength, especially the shoulders.

  • One exercise is to stand on the tube and hold one handle in each hand, lean forward, and reach your arms back.
  • Another is to stand on the end of the tube, hold one handle, and raise it up above your head.
  • You can even do a chest press by wrapping the resistance tubing around a bar at chest height and pushing forward, away from the bar and your chest to add resistance and strengthen your chest muscles.

These are just a few example of upper body strength exercises you can do with resistance tubes. As you see from these three, resistance tubes are very versatile. You can stand on them to create an anchor yourself, or use objects around you to help. Some exercises even pair you with an exercise partner so you both gain strength and endurance with your resistance tube exercises.
